Word of the Year

My 2024 wrapped is definitely not as sexy as my Spotify Wrapped. But give me some grace.  2024 was not easy but it was definitely better than 2023.   I am blessed with a lot of growth in my business. I added two new designers, had multiple new projects, moved my office, and finally finished the development of my new website (stay tuned for more on that).

How did I tackle 2024? When I look back on the year, what made it all work out was a sense of purpose. That’s why my word of the year is “Purpose.” To me, purpose was about doing what I love to do, delighting clients and challenging myself to new heights. Here’s how I built upon these words to propel me towards my purpose.

Shifting My Mentality Onward

For Q1, I selected “onward” because I needed to keep my momentum and my optimism going. 2023 was pretty brutal so I think having an “Onward” mindset allowed me to not get overwhelmed and keep inching forward, no matter how how much I didn’t want to. Onward helped me realize that although I didn’t know how things would turn out, I had to start trusting myself more and wait until the decisions I needed to make unfolded on their own time.

Building My Fortitude

For Q2, I listened to my body and chose “fortitude.” I didn’t know this at the time but one thing I had been neglecting in my life was my health – both physical and mental. After my first Solidcore class, which kicked my ass and abs, I was hooked. I’ve combined with regular strength training as well as prioritizing protein, I was able to truly turn my body into a temple and give it the love it has always deserved.

Mentally, by incorporating more daily gratitude and making sure I was spending time with people that were positive, I noticed positive changes to my mood and outlook. This helped me feel strong no matter what life was throwing at me.

Keeping My Consistency

By the time fall came around this year, I knew there was no turning back on 2024. That’s why rather than adding more things to my plate, I decided that slow and steady wins the race. “Consistency,” my last word of the year, speaks to the practices that I started early.  Aside from creative, I’d love people to describe me as consistent in terms of how I show up.  And lately, I’ve been noticing that compliment a lot more.

Finding My Flow

This year, I showed up for myself, consistently keeping an onward mentality and building my fortitude with consistent workouts. This enabled me to stay focused on living my purpose.
